We met Cindy (Cynthia Blacklock) in a seated aerobics class at Parkwood Rehab Gym, London, Ontario.

She was a happy, fun-loving woman who had a recent stroke and was talking about missing kayaking with her husband. When she learned about Abilities In Motion adaptive kayaking sessions, she eagerly signed up. John, her husband came along too. Cindy soon realized that she could return to kayaking and John remained a steadfast volunteer with AIM. Sadly, after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer, Cindy passed away on September 2, 2022, at age of 72.

She loved travelling and camping in Canada and winter travels to warmer climates. She loved being in and on the water. Swimming gave her a sense of freedom as she was more mobile in a lake than on land. Whale watching and kayaking were other activities that gave her joy.

She will be fondly remembered by her family and her many friends.

Abilities In Motion gives a huge Thankyou to the Blacklock family and friends for the donations in memory of Cynthia Blacklock.
