Get Involved – Abilities in Motion needs you – Volunteer
Help a person with a disability experience the sense of calm and accomplishment that comes from kayaking. For most of us, we simply slide into a kayak and begin to paddle – we might get a lesson or two – but mostly it’s easy. This isn’t true for people who live with a mental or physical disability or who are fearful for other reasons. They will need help with equipment and technique. Many are limited to basic financial assistance and cannot afford any outings at all. These people need our help to enjoy, what we “able” people take for granted. Join Us on a community service project, volunteer for a program, make a decision, or sponsor a person. Your support for Abilities in Motion makes it possible for us to improve the lives of people with disabilities.
We need volunteers who have a personal mission to help people with disabilities discover their potential. For the sport of kayaking it is important to be proficient swimmers, competent kayakers, and have a strong sense of responsibility and safety. We operate in Ontario, mainly in the Greater Toronto Area. Volunteers are also appreciated in areas of administration such as fundraising, data management and accounting. To volunteer, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll be in touch.
