About Abilities in MotionAbilities in Motion is not just to create opportunities for kayaking but to increase awareness of the public to the issues faced by people with disabilities. Opportunities for adaptive recreation are increasing, but slowly. Abilities in Motion supports positive action by not only providing a kayaking experience but integrating this sport with other recreational activities.
We're all about opening up the great outdoors to all |

Since 2005, March of Dimes has been able to offer adapted kayaking at Geneva Park, Orillia, facilitated by Pauline Halstead of Abilities in Motion. Derrick Lavallee, a long-time program participant was able to experience the thrill of kayaking for the first time. “When you are in a kayak for the first time it is so awesome!” exhorts Derrick. He continues, “Being able to kayak was a real life changing experience for me. It was not easy, but once I got the hang of things I had the time of my life!”
